The Tarot Skill of “Confabulation”

Our intuitive knowledge, whether it comes from latent thoughts, unconscious mental machinations, or even the psychic realm, needs an outlet through which it can come to be known. Confabulating a narrative with the cards that appear allows a reader to do just that.

What Tarot Teaches Me

Just as having the faculty of language can make abstract concepts more “real” (if we can talk about them, we can do something about them!), the Tarot provides an amazingly versatile and limitless vocabulary for understanding the human experience. 

A Reading and Reflection for Myself

Does the Tarot work? I figure at the very least, they put you in a positive relationship with your own unconscious mind (I like to draw cards and journal to myself about how they apply). But what I drew tonight was kind of miraculous.

Today's message isn't sunshine and rainbows. Today's message--even on a Holiday--isn't a good one. But there is always hope! On Thanksgiving we see the Star Reversed. Family that lets you down. Sadness when you should be experiencing happiness.

Ballet and the Tarot: Structuring the Self

It is in the interaction between the internal and the external, between the old and the new, between convention and chaos, that we find our realities and our selves. This is why I find ballet and the Tarot to be fundamentally akin and why I find myself so enigmatically and profoundly drawn to each.
